Description: Domestic GSHP with 3 x 90mtr boreholes using rehau P100RC 40mm probes.
Client brief: Incorporate existing viridian solar thermal system into a GSHP solution and design supply all scope of works to include all mechanical and underfloor heating. We were instructed to make the system as energy efficient as possible.
Solution: Supply Danfoss DHP-H 10kW GSHP Akvatherm 300ltr thermal store for DHW/solar input along with design and install of low temperature UFH system. The UFH solution was designed at 100mm centres which provided a low flow temperature of less than 35°C when outside temperatures are less than 0°C. This maximises the efficiency associated with a GSHP. With the client brief stipulating the necessity for energy efficiency. The solution was designed to exceed code level four giving them a co2 reduction greater than 55%. This was achieved solely through the mechanical scope of works.
Main challenge: Location of the site was a concern but was easily managed through good project management and experience.
